Abdul Hai Khan is a visionary leader and a distinguished practitioner of microfinance and social business. He currently serves as the Executive Vice Chairman of Grameen Trust (GT), Chairman of the Governing Body of Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing (GCCN), and the Co-Chairman of Grameen Group. From January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2022, he also served as the Managing Director of Grameen Trust, steering the organization through a period of remarkable growth and global engagement.
 
Mr. Khan holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Dhaka. He further enriched his academic background by completing a specialized course on Financial Institution Private Enterprise Development Executive Education Program at the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University, USA.
 
Earlier in his career, Mr. Khan made significant contributions at Grameen Bank, serving as Deputy General Manager and Head of the Training and Special Program Department. For over four decades, he has worked closely with Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, advancing the global movement of microfinance and social business.
 
Mr. Khan has extensive expertise in Grameen Trust’s international replication programs. He has led numerous international training programs and conducted critical monitoring and evaluation visits to projects across continents. He also spearheaded Fact-Finding Missions in Bolivia, Nepal, Italy, South Africa, and Yemen.
 
In addition to his institutional leadership, Mr. Khan serves on the boards of several microfinance and social business organizations in Bangladesh, India, Italy, Kosovo, and China.
 
He is also a prolific writer, with several publications that provide practical knowledge and technical guidance serving as essential resources for development practitioners worldwide.
