Kazi Waqar Ahmed is the Advisor to the Chairman of the Grameen Group — a global family of social businesses founded by Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. In this role, he supports and aligns Grameen’s diverse enterprises with the mission of achieving Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions.

With more than 35 years of experience across developing and developing markets, Mr. Kazi has led high-impact transformations in governance, performance management, and supply chains. He spent over two decades with Unilever in the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, serving as CFO, Audit Director, Supply Chain Director, and Controller — roles in which he drove operational excellence, strengthened risk and compliance, and embedded data-driven decision-making.

Post‑Unilever, Mr. Kazi has guided complex enterprises through change. He served as Group Chief Operating Officer for DBL Group in Bangladesh and as Managing Director (Bangladesh) for Epic Group — leading integrated planning, ERP deployment, capital structure realignment, and market readiness. He currently advises the Group Chairman and Grameen entities, and leads Quantum Leap Advisory, focusing on audit, governance, finance, IT, and supply chain for enterprises in transition.

In addition to his advisory work, Mr. Kazi is the Vice Chairman of Marie Stopes Bangladesh and the founding Treasurer — and current Secretary of the Governing Body — of the July Foundation. He has served as a board member and advisor across sectors including garments and textiles, jute, ceramics, and cement — helping organizations strengthen strategy, governance, and execution while staying true to a social business ethos.

Mr. Kazi holds a B.Comm from the University of Ottawa and is a US CPA. He earned an MBA from the University of Strathclyde and completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD. He remains committed to building capable leadership, advancing digital transformation, and delivering practical, community-centered results — in service of the Grameen mission and the broader good.
