Ms. Nazneen Sultana

Ms. Nazneen Sultana is a distinguished ICT leader, social business practitioner and development professional with over 30 years of experience in technology, innovation, and inclusive development. She is currently serving as the Executive Vice Chairman of Grameen Communications, where she has been a driving force since its establishment in 1997, having previously served as its Managing Director.

She played a pioneering role in developing the world’s first comprehensive micro-banking software, which is widely used by microfinance institutions including the Grameen Bank. She also led initiatives to expand ICT access to rural communities across Bangladesh, helping bridge the digital divide and strengthening technology-enabled development.

A dedicated advocate of the Social Business movement, Ms. Sultana has contributed to the establishment of several social business ventures, including Grameen Euglena. She is currently serving as the Country Manager of Euglena Corporation Japan’s Liaison Office in Bangladesh, promoting international collaboration in sustainable innovation. She is also serving as a Director on the Board of Grameen Bank, recognizing her longstanding contributions to the Grameen family.

Ms. Sultana began her career with Grameen Bank in 1984 where she played a key role in establishing the Bank’s ICT division. She holds BS and MS degrees in Applied Mathematics from the University of Chittagong and a diploma in Management Information Systems from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. She also serves on the boards of several ICT companies including Accenture Bangladesh.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Sultana is actively engaged in non-profit initiatives promoting gender equality, women’s empowerment, affordable healthcare, and ICT for development.

As a Trustee of Grameen University, she brings visionary leadership, technological expertise and a deep commitment to social innovation, supporting the University’s mission to advance education, research, and sustainable development.
