Work in Progress
Grameen University

At Grameen University, we often speak about a “New Civilization.” This isn’t just a grand academic phrase—it is a practical goal guided by the Three Zeros.

This vision, pioneered by nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, is the foundation of our curriculum. We believe that if we solve these three fundamental issues, we can create a world that is fair, sustainable, and full of opportunity for everyone.

1. Zero Poverty (Ending Wealth Concentration)

Currently, the world’s wealth is concentrated in the hands of a tiny percentage of the population. Professor Yunus argues that poverty is not created by poor people; it is created by the system. At Grameen University, we teach Social Business—a model where businesses are designed to solve human problems rather than just maximize personal profit. By redesigning the “economic engine,” we can make poverty a thing of the past.

2. Zero Unemployment (Every Human is an Entrepreneur)

The traditional education system prepares students to go out and “look for a job.” But what if there are no jobs? We believe that every human being is born with limitless creative potential. Our goal is to train students to be job creators. By fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, we aim for a world where no one has to sit idle waiting for an employer to choose them.

3. Zero Net Carbon Emissions (Saving the Planet)

A business that makes money but destroys the environment is a failure. Grameen University integrates environmental consciousness into every subject. From renewable energy to waste management, we prepare our students to build “Green Social Businesses” that contribute to a healthy planet rather than depleting its resources.

The Role of the “3ZERO Club”

To turn this vision into reality, we encourage our students and youth globally to form 3ZERO Clubs. These are small groups of five young people who commit to taking local actions that contribute to these three global goals.

The Three Zeros vision is a call to action. It asks us to stop following the old, broken paths and start building new ones. At Grameen University, every student is on a journey to become a “Three-Zero Person”—someone who lives and works to make these goals a reality.
